If you are interested in learning Natural History Illustration, the University of Newcastle, Australia, is offering a free, six week course called Drawing Nature, Science and Culture: Natural History Illustration 101. It begins June 28th so enroll quickly.
It is for any level (you don’t have to be experienced) and taught by Dr. Andrew Howells, Convenor of the Bachelor of Natural History Illustration program, and Dr. Bernadette Drabsch, Lecturer, Natural History Illustration.
They will help you build a base to create “accurate and stunning replications of subjects from the natural world”. It was created for people looking to enter the field, as well as, those of us who just like to explore. You’ll need to devote about six hours per week to complete the lessons and do the assignments.
