Thomasville Show Coming Up

I’ll have a booth in theÂ Everybody’s Day festival in Thomasville, NC on September 26th. The first Everybodyâ€™s Day Festival was held in 1908. It is North Carolinaâ€™s Oldest Festival. There will be approximately 145 arts & crafts vendors, a children’s area, three entertainment stages and a golf tournament. The show is sponsored by the Thomasville Medical Center. I’m pretty excited about setting up that Trimline canopy I bought on Ebay this summer and of course, showing my jewelry. Can’t wait. So much to do to get ready!

Are you participating in a craft show this summer? You may want to take a look at Brandy Agerbeck’s Craft Show 101 post over at Loosetooth. She documented her experiences preparing for and participating in the Renegade Craft Fair in Chicago back in 2003. She shares her philosophy on participating in shows, a list of what she made/bought, a diagram of her booth layout, tons of tips and lovely photos of her booth. Brandy has some great advice for both newbies and pros.

I still covet those bowls she made to hold her jewelry.

Craft Attack Applications Due July 31st

Are you planning to apply for a space at Craft Attack? If you answered “Yes!”, be sure to submit your application by July 31st. It’ll be here sooner than you think.

If you’re not familiar with Craft Attack, it’s an outdoor show that will be held from 10 am – 5 pm Saturday, October 10th at Independence Park in Charlotte – Google map. It’s organized by the Hornet’s Nest Crafters Etsy Street Team.

Vending spaces are 10 x 10 feet and the fee is $75.00. Two artists may share one space. They said the jewelry category is one that fills up fast to be sure to enter ASAP if you’re interested.

Mint Hill Arts Spring Jewelry Show

Last Saturday and Sunday, I participated in the Mint Hill Arts Spring Jewelry Show. Here’s one of the pieces I took to the show. It’s a jasper pendant with smoky quartz on one sideÂ and synthetic chalcedony on the other. It’s wrapped with sterling silver wireÂ and hasÂ a sterling silver extender chain and clasp. It was inspiring to see other people’s jewelry and the artwork on display at the center. I enjoyed meeting the people who attended and chatting with the artists who are members of Mint Hill Arts. I feel lucky to have been asked to participate. Thank you Tammy for pulling the whole thing together. You were so wonderful to work and show with. I hope we’re able to do it again soon.
